SciTE

SciTE ( Scintilla Text Editor ) is an open -source text editor for Microsoft Windows and Unix- based operating systems (with GTK support ), such as Linux, BSD and Mac OS X. The program is based on the free Scintilla editor component.

The editor was originally intended only as a simple example for using Scintilla. Version 1.0 was released on 17 May 1999, the previous beta versions were published under the name Tide. Over time it has grown to a complete general-purpose and program editor. It is small, fast and flexible customizable via configuration files and the built-in scripting language Lua, but compared to other text editors like jEdit or Notepad has little pre-implemented features and no macro recorder.

SciTE used in the default syntax highlighting for over 70 programming languages, code folding and a search function with regular expressions. SciTE supports both ANSI and UTF -8 and UCS-2 encodings. There are adjustments with auto-completion and Others for the languages ​​C #, C , Java, Lua, Perl, PHP, Python and AutoIt.

The user interface of SciTE is translated into over 30 languages.
