The Kalkachsenkorallen ( Scleraxonia ) are a group gorgonienähnlicher corals, in which the central axis is (medulla ) of more or less grown together sclerites. You will not be reinforced throughout as the gorgonians of submissions Calcaxonia and Holaxonia by the horn-like Gorgon. However, there are species in which the sclerites form individual, called the shape of nodes nodes that are flexibly connected by Gorgon. The coral is replaced by the more mobility.

The Kalkachsenkorallen count the red coral ( Corallium rubrum) from the Mediterranean and the neat in many marine aquariums crusty growing Briareum.
