The Kalkachsenkorallen ( Scleraxonia ) are a group gorgonienähnlicher corals, in which the central axis is (medulla ) of more or less grown together sclerites. You will not be reinforced throughout as the gorgonians of submissions Calcaxonia and Holaxonia by the horn-like Gorgon. However, there are species in which the sclerites form individual, called the shape of nodes nodes that are flexibly connected by Gorgon. The coral is replaced by the more mobility.

The Kalkachsenkorallen have not only refers to the status of an order, but as a group because of their diversity and the unsubstantiated relationship. The Kalkachsenkorallen all Gorgonienähnlichen soft corals were filed that do not belong to the suborders Calcaxonia and Holaxonia. They are probably polyphyletic.
