Scott Joplin

Scott Joplin ( between June 1867 and January * 1868 Linden, Texas, † April 1, 1917 in New York ) was an American composer and pianist. Life

Scott Joplin, the son of a freed slave to the time of his birth, played violin as a child and received from the age of seven systematic piano lessons from Julius Weiss. Importance

At Scott Joplin's former residence in St. Louis, the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site was established in 1984.
