Scott Sumner

Scott B. Sumner is an American economist and a professor at Bentley University.

Life

Sumner graduated in 1985 as a PhD in Economics at the University of Chicago and subsequently published primarily to prediction markets and monetary policy Wider fame he gained in the course of the financial crisis that began in 2007, when Sumner disagreed in his blog the thesis that the United States economy was in a liquidity trap. He developed a theory that central banks such as the Federal Reserve should establish a futures market for nominal level of GDP; the information gained will be used to control the nominal GDP ( NGDP targeting). In the circle of this thesis is on an economic school, which became known as " Marktmonetarismus " (market monetarism ), referred to as the " gray eminence " Ambrose Evans -Pritchard Sumner developed. 2012 marked the Chronicle of Higher Education therefore Sumner next to Gregory Mankiw and Paul Krugman "one of the most influential economics blogger ".
