Scottish Football League First Division
The Scottish First Division until 2013, the second highest football league in Scotland and the highest of the Scottish Football League.
In the league played ten teams, each season may ascend the top ranked team in the Scottish Premier League when specific stadium criteria are met. The last- placed team descends while the penultimate to the League fate plays after the season play-offs against the teams that occupy the second to fourth on the season final in the Second Division.
The clubs played four times against each other. For a victory, there were three points and a one point difference.
After the end of the season 2012/13 the Scottish First Division was replaced by the Scottish Championship.
