Scottish Football League Third Division

The Scottish League Two is the fourth highest football league in Scotland and the third stage of the Scottish Football League. Play ten teams in the league. By the end of the season 2012/2013 the name of the League Scottish Football League Second Division was.

History

Already from 1923 to 1926 had the Scottish League Division Three with a consistently 16 clubs, mostly from the south of the country. The champion and runner- up to the 2nd Division; Masters were Arthurlie FC ( from Barrhead 1923 /24) and the Nithsdale Wanderers ( from Sanquhar, in 1924/25 ). In the years after the Second World War, there was again a 3rd Liga, this time called "C" Division. On 13 July 2012, the Scottish Football League decided that the Glasgow Rangers participate from the 2012/13 season on game operation of the Third Division. This decision was confirmed on 27 July 2012 by the Scottish Football Association. After only one year in the fourth division, the Rangers went on.
