Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art
The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is an art museum in Edinburgh.
Museum
The museum was opened in 1960 at Inverleith House of the Royal Royalene garden. 1980 the museum moved into today's neo-classical building. The building was built in 1825-1828 by William Burn for John Watson 's Hospital. Ahead of the museum building is a Skulputurengarten with works by Henry Moore, Rachel Whiteread, Tony Cragg and Barbara Hepworth. In the lawn in front of the museum in the work " Landform " by Charles Jencks is integrated. The museum works by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Piet Mondrian, Ben Nicholson, Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, The Scottish Colourists, Peter Howson, Levannah Harris, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, Boyle Family and Douglas Gordon will be issued.
