Scottish National Portrait Gallery

The Scottish National Portrait Gallery is an art museum on Queen Street, Edinburgh, Scotland. It shows a national collection of portraits, but mainly not exclusively Scottish statesmen.

In addition, it houses the Scottish National Photography Collection. Since 1889 it is located in a neo-Gothic red sandstone building, built between 1885 and 1890 and designed by Robert Rowand Anderson.

Was donated to the construction of John Ritchie Findlay, owner of the Scotsman newspaper. After the gallery had to be closed in April 2009 for a complete building renovation, it was opened on 1 December 2011.
