Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska
Scotts Bluff County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is low, which was according to Martin Gering, a banker named.
Geography
The County is located in the extreme west of Nebraska, bordering Wyoming and has an area of 1931 square kilometers, of which 16 square kilometers are water surface. It borders in Nebraska clockwise to the following counties: Sioux County, Box Butte County, Morrill County and Banner County.
History
Scotts Bluff County was formed in 1881.

According to the census of 2000, there were 36 951 people in Scotts Bluff County. Of these, 652 people were living in collective centers, the other inhabitants lived in 14,887 households and 10,167 families. The population density was 19 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 87.58 percent White, 0.27 percent African American, 1.88 percent Native American, 0.57 percent Asian, 0.04 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 8.02 percent from other races groups; 1.63 percent were descended from two or more races. 17.19 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 14,887 households out of which 31.5 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 54.2 percent were married couples living together, 10.7 percent were single mothers, 31.7 percent were non-families, 27.8 percent of all households and 12.8 percent lived in people aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.97.
Based on the county the population was spread from 25.9 percent population under 18 years, 8.4 percent between 18 and 24 years, 25.4 percent between 25 and 44 years, 23.0 percent between 45 and 64 years and 17.2 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 men statistically.
The median income for a household was $ 32,016, and the median income for a family was $ 38,932. Males have a median income of $ 30,317, women $ 20,717. The per capita income was $ 17,355. 11.0 percent of families and 14.5 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. This included 22.0 percent of children and adolescents under 18 years and 8.7 percent of seniors aged 65 and over.
