Scree

Debris is a greater accumulation of costs incurred by weathering and erosion edged stones, so rock fragments. Debris is according to DIN 4022 is greater than 63 mm, generally at least greater than 2 mm ( Psephite ). Great material called scree. Round material is called detritus.

Such rock material accumulates in the mountains, at the foot of steep slopes or cliffs to scree ( talus, Schuttfuß ) or boulders on, or is present as residual ice age as a block in front of the sea. Sedimented and petrified the material, creates a breccia (in distinction to some rocky conglomerate ).

The crushed rocks used in the construction industry, similarly shaped but mostly man-made is referred to as gravel.

In a broader sense, the rubble of destroyed buildings are referred to as debris. Individual layers in the subsurface of rubble characterize long used human settlements (see also rubbish pit), in modern construction rubble.
