Scrollwork
The Rolling is a form of decoration, which occurs mainly in the German Renaissance of the 16th and early 17th century. Meandering and rolled, plastic-looking band forms, their characteristics are mainly found in coats of arms and cartridges. Therefore, the work roll is also referred to as a cartridge drive. Often in combination with the strapwork it occurs.
The scrollwork was developed in the School of Fontainebleau, it was further developed in the Netherlands.
