Scrub Island (British Virgin Islands)

Scrub Iceland is an island of the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. The island is located immediately east of the larger neighboring island of Great Camanoe and about four kilometers northeast of Tortola, the main island of the British overseas territory.

With a length of two and a half kilometers and a maximum width of 600 meters Scrub Iceland has an area of 0.93 km ² (230 acres). The island consists of two towering hills of volcanic origin, which are interconnected by a flat and narrow isthmus. The smaller western part ( called the Little Scrub ) rises 95 meters (313 feet) up, while the larger eastern part (Big Scrub ) reaches a height of 133.5 meters ( 438 feet).

Is on the formerly uninhabited and less developed island currently (2008) built an exclusive holiday resort.
