Landscape and Nature

The landscape around the former monastery is typical of the Swiss Jura, is every season a delightful sight. The visitor is invited by the unspoilt nature to linger and explore. From the monastery, hiking trails lead in all directions, over hills, through forests and lush meadows.

Sculptures and artists

A number of prominent artists who discovered this landscape for himself and incorporates sculptures in subtle ways in the nature. The show includes works by Tony Cragg, Nigel Hall, Richard Long, David Nash, Nicola Hicks, Rückriem, Erwin Wortelkamp and many others.

The amazing thing is how much nature and art complement each other and how by changing conditions (season, weather, light) appear in the sculptures ever new images. The image of carved wood in Capricorn shows how the weather, the sculpture has dyed gray. It differs little from the trees in the background. The work Recovered Memory of the artist Nicola Hicks shows Little Red Riding Hood and the grandmother with wolf head in a small clearing. Because of their color, shape and positioning in the wild a very lively -looking picture that is reminiscent of a theater scene is created. On a hill with a beautiful view is the one visible from a distance and eye-catching, some eight meters high sculpture Soglio by Nigel Hall.

These are just three examples of a sculpture park with works by national ( Switzerland ) and international artists who use nature in the idyllic landscape as background.
