SDS-1

SDS -1 (Small Demonstration Satellite ) is a Japanese satellite. It was launched on 23 January 2009 at 3:54 UTC clock along with GOSAT on an H-IIA rocket from Tanegashima Space Station.

Mission

SDS -1 was developed as a test satellite to satellite technologies and processes for the development and satellite construction to check and optimize them.

Milestones

On 27 January 2009, the Japanese space agency JAXA announced that the " critical period " is over, that is, the satellite had reached its final orbit, the solar panels were deployed and the communication has been successfully established.
