The seal of the U.S. state of Nebraska was introduced in 1867.
Description
Through the background is a train with a steam locomotive, mountains beyond are visible.
A steamer plowing through the waters of the Missouri. A simple log cabin and harvested wheat bundles illustrate the importance of the settlers and agriculture.
In the foreground a blacksmith working at his anvil.
At the top of the seal carries a banner with the English motto:
The outer ring of the seal contains the text " Great Seal of the State of Nebraska, March 1st, 1867 ".
The seal can also be found in the center of the flag of Nebraska.
