The Sealyham Terrier is one of the FCI ( No. 74, Gr. 3, sec 2) recognized British breed.

Origin and History

The Sealyham Terrier originates from England and was bred as a hunting dog from crosses using the Bassets with the Bull Terrier, the Fox Terrier, the West Highland White Terrier and the Dandie Dinmont Terrier.

1908, the first club was founded in 1910 and the breed officially recognized. By 1940, its popularity took off and today it is found almost exclusively in England and South Africa.

Description

The Sealyham Terrier is a short-legged, long-haired terrier that can become large and about 9 kg to 31 cm. Weatherproof coat is his mark, it is long with hard and wiry outer coat with undercoat in white or white with yellow, brown, blue or badger markings. The ears are medium sized, slightly rounded at the tips and sides worn on the cheeks.
