Sailor (English Seaman or Seaman recruit ) is in many navies, a soldier in the lowest rank of the teams.

In the German Navy is the lowest enlisted rank sailor. The official address is Lord sailor or, in female form, woman sailor. If several soldiers of the same service level present, of which only one is to be addressed, the salutation of the surname of the corresponding soldiers nachgefügt.

Etymology
The term sailor is derived from the Middle High German Mazgenoze, which is a composition of the words Maz ( " meal " ) and Genoze ( "comrade" ). This refers to was named the youngest member of a ship's crew, also a cabin boy or Moses.
