The " Sean Avery Rule"

On 13 April 2008, he practiced an entirely new tactics, the opposing goalkeeper to block the view. In a 5-on -3 majority for his team, he ignored the running game operating completely and began to his hands and his cane in front of the face of Martin Brodeur reciprocate to this as to obstruct the view of the puck and the game. This approach was indeed considered by many experts to be unsportsmanlike, however, was not prohibited at this time, since he thereby einhielt enough clearance by the goalkeeper. The following day, the NHL issued an amendment to the " unsportsmanlike conduct" rule ( unsportsmanlike conduct ) to such manipulations, such as to prevent the running of Avery in the future. Therefore, many people spoke of the " Sean Avery Rule." The incident led, among other things, that Brodeur refused after the series win by the Rangers, Avery to shake hands.
