Sean Collins (ice hockey defenceman)

Sean P. Collins ( born October 30, 1983 in Troy, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since 2008 at the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League contract.

Career

Sean Collins began his career as a hockey player with the Cleveland Barons, for by 2002 he was active from 2000 in the junior league North American Hockey League. Then the defender played a year for the junior team Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League. From 2003 to 2007, he attended The Ohio State University and played for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

On 19 March 2007 Collins signed a contract as a free agent with the Washington Capitals, for their farm team, which he gave Hershey Bears at the end of the 2006/07 season his debut in professional hockey when he was in three games in the American Hockey League stood on the ice. In the following season, he ran to twelve times for the Hershey Bears in the AHL and mainly for their cooperation partners South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. For the Stingrays, he scored two goals in 51 games and made 21 templates.

In the 2008 /09 season, the Americans won a starting berth at the Bears, with whom he won the Calder Cup at the end of the season. In addition, he came to his debut in the National Hockey League for the Washington Capitals, in 15 games for which he scored a goal and an assist each. In the following season Collins was exclusively in the squad the Bears, with whom he could win the Calder Cup again. Also in the 2010/11 season playing for the Hershey Bears.
