Sean Fine

Sean Fine is an American documentary filmmaker, who won in the category Best Short Documentary in 2013 together with his wife Andrea Nix Fine for the documentary Inocente Oscar.

Life

He is the son of a camera man or director and a film editor and director. He went to 1986 on the St. Patrick 's Episcopal Day School in Washington, DC and made a summer film course at New York University. He then studied at Connecticut College, where in 1996 he took degrees in zoology and as a film maker. After college, he began working at National Geographic, where he met his future wife Andrea Nix, he eventually married in 2003. In the same year they founded the production company Fine film.

After that, he directed several documentaries directed before he and his wife, the documentation War / Dance produced in 2007. Here they tell the story of three Ugandan children who want to participate in a music festival. For this work he was nominated along with his wife in 2008 for the Academy Award for Best Documentary. 2013, after another nomination in the category of documentary short film, he finally received the award for the film Inocente, in which he tells the story of a 15 -year-old homeless girl who wants to be an artist.
