Sean Lawlor

Sean Lawlor ( born January 25, 1954 in Dublin, Ireland, † October 10, 2009 ) was an Irish film and theater actor and playwright.

He was educated at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. Lawlor played from 1980 to 1982 in the television series Bracken the role of Peter Thompson. This was followed by roles in several Irish film and television productions. At the theater he acted in plays such as The Kings of the Kilburn High Road and also wrote his own pieces as the one-man play, first performed in 1988 The Watchman.

Gained international recognition Lawlor in the role of Malcolm Wallace in Mel Gibson's historical film Braveheart.

He died in October 2009 at the consequences of a short battle with cancer at the age of 55 years. After his death, the donor-supported Sean Lawlor Artists Trust was set up by the Irish artists in the case of an illness provides financial and other support.
