Sean McIntosh

Sean McIntosh (born 21 May 1985 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia) is a Canadian race car driver. He started from 2005 to 2007 in the A1GP.

Career

McIntosh began his motorsport career in 1993. He was until 2001 active in karting and stood at about Midget car racing. In 2000, he debuted in Formula racing and participated in races of U.S. F2000 National Championship. He finished tenth in the Formula Continental, the San Francisco region in 2001. He also competed in the U.S. F2000 National Championship. A season later, McIntosh was fifth in the U.S. F2000 National Championship. In addition, he competed in the North American Formula Renault. He won a race and finished fourth in the championship. In 2003, McIntosh participated in several races of the North American Formula Renault and was overall penalty. In addition, he competed in the British Formula Renault Winter Series, finishing well here to eleventh place. Over the next two years, McIntosh has been active for the team FirstAir in the British Formula Renault. In his first season he won a race and finished sixth overall. 2005 McIntosh opted for five races and was with 417 to 436 points behind runner-up Oliver Jarvis.

In winter 2005/2006 McIntosh was a pilot of the Canadian teams in the A1 Grand Prix, which was held for the first time this season. McIntosh played the first eight, Patrick Carpentier, the last three events. After McIntosh reached at the Euro Speedway Lausitz a podium with a third place ranking, followed by his first victory at the Sentul International Circuit. It was also his last time being A1GP race. The Canadian team was at the end of the season in eleventh place in the team standings. 2006 McIntosh received in a cockpit KTR in Formula Renault 3.5. McIntosh finished two races on the podium and a second place was his best result. At the end of the season, he finished with 63 points in sixth place in the championship. So he sat down within the team against Robbie Kerr, who scored 20 points through. In the A1GP season 2006/2007 McIntosh graduated more A1GP race. He shared the cockpit this season with James Hinchcliffe. McIntosh played four, Hinchcliffe seven race weekends. A fifth place was the best result of McIntosh.

2008 and 2009, McIntosh was active in any racing series. In 2010 he returned to motorsport back, but this time in GT racing. He took part in this and the next season on a respective races of the Grand-Am Sports Car Series.
