Sean Monahan

Sean Monahan ( born October 12, 1994 Brampton, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since 2013 he is with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League on the position of the center under contract. Also, the attacker plays for the Ottawa 67 's in the Ontario Hockey League.

Career

Monahan began his career with the Mississauga Rebels in a junior league in the Greater Toronto Area. In the Priority Selection 2010 the Ontario Hockey League ( OHL ), he was selected in the first round to 16th position from the Ottawa 67 's. The player joined the 2010/11 season in the OHL and completed in his rookie season 65 games for Ottawa, thereby pass him 20 goals and 27 assists. In addition, the Center for OHL Rookie of the Month of March 2011 was elected after he succeeded in 12 games this month, 11 goals and 7 assists.

The following season, Sean Monahan was able to increase his points clear cut and scored in 62 games 78 points scorer. The Ottawa 67 's qualified to be the second best team in the Western Conference behind the Niagara IceDogs for the play- offs. After victories against the Belleville Bulls and the Barrie Colts eliminated the 67 's in the Conference Finals against Niagara. In the OHL season 2012/13 Monahan was closed on 23 November 2012 for ten games after an opponent foul checked against the head in a game against the Plymouth Whalers. He finished the season as the previous year with 78 points scorer.

Sean Monahan was selected at the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 in the first round to sixth position overall by the Calgary Flames.

Internationally

His first measures on the international level had Monahan at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge, 2011. During this tournament he ran for the Ontario Team Canada and won after a final victory against the American team the gold medal. Monahan thereby pass in five games as many points scorer.
