Searcy is a city in White County in the U.S. state of Arkansas with 19,900 inhabitants ( as of 2004) and is the county seat. The metropolitan area has a size of 38.1 km ². In the city there is the Harding University.

History

On 9 August 1965, comes close to the Little Rock Air Force Base and the city during the Cold War in a silo ( Launch Complex 373-4 ), fitted with a LGM -25C Titan II ICBM to an accident. During maintenance are killed by a fire outbreak 53 people.
