Seat Toledo

Seat Toledo was from early 1991 to mid- 2009, a passenger car series of the lower middle class of the Spanish manufacturer Seat. In the fall of 2012 Seat began to resume production of the series again.

Toledo (1L, 1991-1999 )

Seat Toledo (1991-1995)

After the takeover by Volkswagen AG in the 1980s Seat presented in early 1991 the Toledo ago as a saloon in the lower middle class. It was a 4.33 meter long car with a boot, but with a large tailgate and a 550 -liter boot, which should replace the Seat Malaga.

The first Toledo models has been developed for each half of Seat and VW and included parts of the VW Golf II and III ( 2.0 GTi engine, 2E). The internal model designation for models from early 1991 to early 1999 was 1L.

In the fall of 1995, there were an inside and outside revised model, which also carried the type designation 1L. The engine consisted of engines from 1.6 liter 53 kW ( 72 hp ) to the top version with 2.0 liter 16V 110 kW ( 150 hp). The complete range of engines and suspension technology came from the VW Golf.

Seat Toledo (1995-1999)

After the first generation Toledo was set in the spring of 1999, the production line was sold to China. There, the vehicle was built further than Chery Fulwin until he was replaced in 2006 by the successor Chery Fulwin 2.

The design of the Toledo designed the early 1990s, originally for the Škoda Octavia I by Giugiaro. At the launch of the Škoda Octavia, the then Czech Prime Minister Václav Klaus felt ( the Czech state was co-partner at Škoda ) car as "too Italian". Ferdinand Piëch, the VW Group CEO ( as main shareholder ), followed this view, so that a new exterior design was designed for the Škoda. In October 1998, the production of the second generation Toledo began. The body of Toledo now had a classic notchback with a small trunk lid. The internal type designation was at this time 1M. In October 1999, the hatchback variant Leon came on the market.

The Toledo 1M was technically broadly identical to the VW Bora, VW Golf IV, Audi A3 8L and the Škoda Octavia I. The electrical / electronics and the interior were based on the Audi A3 8L. The trunk volume decreased compared to its predecessor and was 500 liters.

In April 2004, the third-generation Toledo was put on the market.

The Toledo fourth generation is based on the Škoda Rapid and is visually almost identical to this. He is 4.48 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.60 meters. It was developed by Škoda, in its main plant Mladá Boleslav, the vehicle will be produced in parallel with the Rapid.

Similar to the first generation of 1991 is a vehicle with wide-opening tailgate that extends up to the roof.
