Sebastian Bieniek

Sebastian Bieniek ( born April 24, 1975 in Czarnowąsy, Poland ) is a German film director, artist, photographer and author.

Life

In 1989, Bieniek of coupling in Poland ( Upper Silesia ) to Unterluess in Lower Saxony, where he lived until 1996. 1994 Sebastian Bieniek was recorded as the time the youngest member of the Federal Association of Artists. Until then, his work consisted of painting.

From 1996 to 1998 he studied with John M. Armleder, briefly also at Marina Abramovic's art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Braunschweig.

Consisting of 25 paintings "Bear Series", combines elements of pop art, abstract painting and narration. While from 38 painted profile photos of the " My Facebook Fans " series of paintings depicting Bienieks interest in social networks, very graphically and narratively -looking series of paintings "Sometimes" is again meant more ironic.

The resulting 2012 as a conceptual piece painting series " Homeland Security " shows Bienieks craftsmanship and is designed as a media criticism.

Parallel to the painting itself Bieniek has since 2009 again with the performance art. So he arranged for example in 2009 with the performance " Burqa " at the Art Forum Berlin stir by he and a companion had crept dressed in a burqa on the art fair.

In September 2013 Sebastian Bieniek has become one with his photo series "Double Faced " known worldwide. The series, which first spread through social networks, came after a few weeks on a wide coverage in the press. Moreover, it has "Double Faced " elected by designboom magazine as one of the " Top 10 Body Art Stories of 2013 ". and the collector design magazine for " Best Photography 2013 ".
