Sebastian Erixon

Sebastian Erixon ( born September 12, 1989 in Sundsvall ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since 2013 in the Vaxjo Lakers of the Elitserien under contract. His father Staffan Erixon was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Sebastian Erixon began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the Timrå IK, for the first team, he was from 2006 to 2011 in the Elitserien, the highest Swedish league, active. During this period he was also Junior Draft selected in the first round as a whole eleventh player from SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL in 2010, for which he subsequently but not played. Instead, the defender received in April 2011 a contract as a free agent with the Vancouver Canucks, for their farm team Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League, he was in the 2011/12 season on the ice.

On 27 February 2012 it transferred the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Andrew Gordon to the Anaheim Ducks. After the Swede neither Californians nor for their farm team, the Syracuse Crunch, had completed a game, he returned in June 2012 to his homeland and signed a two -year contract with Timrå IK. This was dissolved in April 2013 and Erixon moved within the league to the Växjö Lakers.

Internationally

For Erixon Sweden took part in the U18 World Youth Championship 2007 and the Under-20 World Youth Championship 2009. In the 2007 U18 World Championships he won the bronze, at the 2009 U20 World Championship silver medal with his team.
