Sebastian Ernst

Sebastian Ernst ( born October 11, 1984 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German athlete who starts in the Sprint.

Life

He was. At the Junior World Championships in 2002 in Kingston / Jamaica as the best Europeans sixth in the 200 -meter run 2003 Ernst was European Junior Champion in Tampere and won with the German 4 x 100 meters relay silver medal. In the U23 European Championships in 2005 in Erfurt, he won silver in the individual and team competition and was the 2004/ 05 alongside Tobias Unger as the best German 200-meter sprinter.

Ernst took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, where he reached the semifinals. In the intermediate run, he improved his personal best to 20.36 s, which he slid into third place in the eternal German leaderboard, behind Tobias Unger, who was on the same day 20.30 s run, and Frank Emmelmann. 2005 Ernst competed at the World Championships in Helsinki. The following year he became German champion and took part in the European Championships in Gothenburg, where he finished fifth with the German relay.

Since 2007, Ernst could not qualify in individual and relay events for United before he was in Barcelona over 200 meters at the start of the European Championships in 2010 and there was a further round. On its use in the season he had to do without because of a thigh injury while warming up. In the following indoor season was Ernst German indoor champion. He turned in Leipzig on February 27, 2011 in 20.42 s on a new German indoor record, undercutting the six -year-old record of Tobias Unger of 20.53 s in the summer, he participated in the World Championships in Daegu. At the European Championships in 2012 he reached the semifinals in Helsinki.

Sebastian Ernst started for FC Schalke 04 (until 2005 ), TV Wattenscheid (until 2012 ) and TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen (since 2013). He trained at Wattenscheider sprint coach André Ernst, husband of the former sprinter Melanie Paschke. Ernst is a member of the sports promotion group of the Federal Police.
