Sebastian Kienle

Sebastian Kienle (born 6 July 1984) is a German triathlete, Ironman European Vice-Champion (2012 ) and reigning Ironman 70.3 World Champion (2012, 2013). He is in the Hall of Fame German triathletes ( men) out on the Ironman distance.

Career

The age of 12 started Sebastian Kienle his triathlon career. During his physics studies in Karlsruhe Kienle ran the sport of triathlon semi-professional team in the Tri Heuchelberg.

Kienle was the Ironman 70.3 Germany 2009 in Wiesbaden the fastest. The Knittlinger required for the half Ironman distance ( 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) 4:04:35 hours and he, setting a new course record.

Kienle 2010 appeared for the first time on long- distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) on. He finished second at the Challenge Roth, reaching 7:59:06 hours, the fastest long distance premiere of all time. He set a new world record in long distance cycling, he was undercutting the eleven year-old record by Jürgen Zäck with his time of 4:14:07 hours at eleven seconds.

After an aborted after three Radstürzen races in Wiesbaden Kienle renounced to start at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships 2011 in Las Vegas.

In July 2012, he was in Frankfurt Vice-European Champion, and in September he took the title of Ironman 70.3 World Champion. In October Kienle reached at his first start at Ironman Hawaii in fourth place after had thrown back lying technical problems in management while cycling it. The 2012 season brought Kienle also strengthened international recognition, especially after the World Champion title on the 70.3 - distance. This was followed by interviews with well-known American sports media as the Competitor Radio.

In September 2013 he was able to defend his title and was again in Las Vegas world champion middle distance. At the Ironman in Hawaii this time he reached the podium and was the best German in third place.
