Sebastian Lang ( born September 15, 1979 in Sonneberg ) is a former German professional cyclist.

Career

Long ran as an amateur since 1998, the team TEAG Köstritzer. He could draw attention to the first time in 2000 when he won the bronze medal in the time trial of the German championships of the elite. The following season he was U23 vice champion in the time trial and won bronze in the same discipline at the European Championships.

In 2002 he moved to Team Gerolsteiner. There, he won two stages in the Rhineland -Palatinate Tour 2002, won with Michael Rich at the pair time trial in Karlsruhe in 2003 and won in the same year, the Tour of Denmark. When Hesse Tour 2004 Long won a stage and was at the end Gesamtsieger.Bei the 2006 Tour de France he reached on the 7th stage a third place, on the 19th stage, a time trial, he finished fifth. In the 2008 Tour de France he wore three stages long the leader's jersey in the mountains classification.

After the 2008 season, he joined the Belgian ProTeam Silence-Lotto. After he completed all three " Grand Tours" for this team in 2011, he ended his active career. He began training and working at the Sportpark John square in Erfurt.

Sebastian Lang now lives in Erfurt.
