Sebastian Polter (* April 1, 1991 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German footballer who is 05 has a contract with Bundesliga 1 FSV Mainz.

In his youth Sebastian Polter began as the goalkeeper in district Heidmuhler FC Club in Wilhelmshaven. There he made national attention and was appointed to the selection of the Lower Saxony Football Association ( NFA ) in 2002. At twelve, he moved to his native city to neighboring Wilhelmshaven, where he was discovered by talent scouts of the SV Werder Bremen and has already taken a year later in their own youth. Although he had been invited there in the youth team of the DFB, he aspired to no future as a goalkeeper, but wanted to prove himself as a striker. Since it was not enabled at Werder, he went back to SV Wilhelmshaven, where he got the chance. In the first game he scored all five goals for his team, he scored a total of 60 goals in a year. He was again taken up in the Lower selection, with which he was German champion in 2006, and played for the U- 15 team of the DFB. A year later he played for Eintracht Braunschweig, there was U-16 national team and got the DFB in March 2007, the award for "Talent of the Month".

2007 Polter finally came to VfL Wolfsburg. In the first year he was actually still provided for the B- youth of the year, however, he already got the youngest player on the U -19. With the team he reached the final of the German A Youth Championship, which was lost against SC Freiburg. In the following two years he was then fixed in the U-19, but was already playing regularly in the U -23 in the Regionalliga Nord. For the 2009/10 season Polter received a professional contract until 2012, but without the professional team that had previously become German champions in year to be used. This was due to a broken metatarsal, who had put him out of action long. In the following year, his first year seniors, Polter collected continue in the U -23 match practice. National

Polter was discovered early for the national youth teams of the DFB and already played in the U -15 and U- 16th Then it took however until the U-18 national team, until he was appointed again.
