Sebastiano Conca

Sebastiano Conca, also called " Il Cavaliere " called ( born January 8, 1680 in Gaeta, † September 1, 1764 in Naples) was an Italian painter of the late Baroque.

Life

Sebastiano Conca was the eldest of ten children of businessman and farmer control Erasmo Conca and his wife Caterina de Lorio. At a young age, his father sent him to the workshop of Francesco Solimena (1657-1747) to Naples. Conca 1702 accompanied his master to Montecassino. Conca 1706 went with his brother Giovanni Conca to Rome and founded his own workshop for painting frescoes and panel paintings, which developed his style in the direction of a classical late Baroque on.
