Sebi Tramontana

Sebastiano " Sebi " Tramontana ( born December 12, 1960 in Rosolini, Sicily ) is an Italian avant-garde trombonist of jazz and improvised music.

Life and work

Sebi Tramontana began as a child playing the guitar and joined in the late 1970s to the soprano saxophone. In 1982, the trombone was his main instrument; During this time he worked with Bruno Tommaso at a radio production. This he learned Giancarlo Schiaffini know who persuaded him to move to Rome and study in L' Aquila on A. Casella Conservatorio. In Rome he collaborated with Joseph Martin, Eugenio Colombo and Mario Schiano; in 1986 he was a member of the New Talents Orchestra, which occurred on the Rocella Jonica Festival. In 2003, he stepped on the banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris and Ghent with Joëlle Leandre European Quartet with Carlos Zingaro, Paul Lovens and as a guest on Irène Schweizer. With Léandre he played in a duo on the mountain Ulrich Kaleidophon Festival and performed with a trombone trio in Ljubljana and Maribor where Vinko Globokar and Hannes Bauer were involved.

Since 1999, Sebi Tramontana often toured through Germany and Austria, and worked with the actor and television writer Udo Wachtveitl. Since 2001 he plays as a musician and actor with the Dance Company En Knap of Iztok Kovac from Ljubljana. He also appeared in the 2004 film Under my skin the director Saso Podgorsek on.
