Second Baseman

The second baseman, abbreviated 2B ( Eng.: second base man) is a field position in baseball. It is taken from that player who is on the second base. In the notation of the official baseball second baseman the "number 4".

The second baseman covers the center of the infield and is ideally a faster, with good reflexes players equipped with a large catch radius. They often initiate a double play, they finish with a throw to the first baseman. Second Basemen are almost always right-handed, as it is difficult for left-handers, take a ball in the same motion and throw to the left ( ie to first base ).
