Second Ponta cabinet

The Cabinet Ponta II is the second formed by Victor Ponta Government of Romania. The Government consists of members of the PSD, the PNL and the PC and the PSD cleavage UNPR. It replaced the Cabinet Ponta. The 30 social-liberal cabinet members were officially named on 19 December, 2012. On 21 December 2012, the Romanian Parliament Victor Ponta re-elected as prime minister and approved his new cabinet. Because the coalition partners want more ministerial posts, some government offices were created. The reign of the Cabinet falls in the time of national crisis in Romania in 2012.

In February 2014 broke the governing coalition of Social Democrats ( PSD) and Liberals (PNL ). After weeks of controversy over a cabinet reshuffle the party leadership of the Liberals decided to withdraw its Minister on 25 February 2014. Prime Minister Ponta must continue to govern since then with a thin majority in Parliament. The Social Democrats have already negotiated with other groups on a support.
