Second Railway Package

The second railway package is a on 23 January 2002 proposed by the European Commission's package of measures to revitalize the rail again. Its actions are based on the guidelines of the White Paper and to the safety, improve the interoperability of rail transport and market access in the area of rail freight. In addition, the Commission proposes, for the establishment of a European Railway Agency to conduct the technical work in the areas of security and interoperability.
