Secretariat of the Navy (Mexico)

The Secretaría de Marina ( SEMAR ) is the political "Secretary of the Navy " in Mexico. As Secretariat of the Government, it is comparable to a Ministry of State Government and can therefore be referred to as the Mexican Navy Department, which is responsible for the Mexican Navy Armada de México. For the common defense policy of the country, the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional ( SEDENA ) is responsible.

The SEMAR divided mainly into the Under-Secretariat of the Navy ( Subsecretaría ) and the top Marine commander of the state ( Oficialía Mayor de Marina). The naval forces are directly subordinated to the Ministry.
