Secretariat of Tourism (Mexico)

The Secretaría de Turismo ( SECTUR ) is the political " office ( the government) for tourism" in Mexico. As Secretariat of the Government, it is comparable to a Ministry of State Government.

The SECTUR was founded in 1970 under President Luis Echeverría for the promotion of tourism in Mexico. It is divided into three sub- secretariats ( Subsecretarías ) for " tourism activities " ( Operación Turística ), " Tourism Planning" ( Planeación Turística ) and " innovation and quality " ( Innovación y Calidad ).
