Security blanket

The Blanket, Schnuffeldecke or security blanket is a common and very common transitional object (English Transitional Object, see Winnicott ) dar. It helps the infant or toddler to accept the absence of the caregiver and is a highly occupied with feelings object. It is often done by children and helps them on the one hand to separate from the caregiver and the other hand to build relationships with their environment. In conflict situations, a transitional object have a calming effect. This meaning can be a blanket for adults maintained and offer personal crises of security and comfort. The comic strip artist Charles M. Schulz gave Linus from the Peanuts such a ceiling, and created the standard in the English concept of security blanket.
