Sedibeng is the southernmost district within the province of Gauteng in South Africa. He has 914 484 inhabitants (as of 2011) on a total area of 4,200 km ². Seat of the district administration is Vereeniging.

The district is a center of the mining industry, especially iron smelting and coal mining. Here is one of the largest dams in South Africa, the Vaal Dam, which is used for energy production.

Sedibeng is the Sesotho term for " at the well" or " at the source ". The district is situated on the Vaal River, which forms the border between the provinces of Gauteng and Free State here.
