Sef Vergoossen

Sef Vergoossen ( born May 8, 1947 in Echt-Susteren ) is a Dutch football coach, who has coached numerous Dutch and foreign teams in his career as a coach.

Coaching career

VVV Venlo

His coaching career began in 1978 when the Dutch first division Sef Vergoossen VVV Venlo as an assistant coach. There was, he took over in 1981, the chief coach of the now relegated Venlo. In the season 1984/1985 he led his club back into the Premier Division and reached there confidently in the league. Nevertheless, he acknowledged his position as coach and took over the next three years, the head of the youth department of VVV.

Eredivisie

In the summer of 1989 he took over as coach again. Vergoossen went to the first division club MVV Maastricht. By descent in 1995, he led the club. He was three years sports director in Maastricht then. During this time, the association of back in the Bundesliga. In the summer of 1998 Vergoossen took over relegation candidates Roda Kerkrade. Foreign countries

PSV Eindhoven

After the previous coach Ronald Koeman joined the Spanish top club FC Valencia sought the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven urgently an interim coach. Sef Vergoossen turned in January 2008 this challenge and put like a new club record with eleven games unbeaten at the start as PSV coach. He took over the position from former assistant coach Jan Wouters, who led the team to Koeman's departure and later was an assistant coach under Vergoossen. The PSV Vergoossen won the championship at the end of the season. Successor of Vergoossen for the 2008/2009 season was Huub Stevens from Hamburger SV.

KRC Genk

Since July 2008 Vergoossen works as a consultant to the Belgian first division club KRC Genk.
