Sefferweich

Sefferweich is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bitburg -Land.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 777

Parish council

The local council in Sefferweich consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Clubs

The only of local club is the volunteer fire department Sefferweich, which had about 20 members in 2005. However, numerous Sefferweicher member associations of the neighboring villages, especially in Seffern. Mentioned here is the Musikverein Eifel sound Seffern eV

Customs

Every year in August on the 1st weekend after August 10 ( Feast of Saint. Lawrence of Rome) from Saturday to Monday, the traditional " Laurentius fair " instead. The event is organized volunteer fire department Sefferweich. Program points are the " Sefferweicher Kuhfladenroulette ", the " Sefferweicher beer Humpe Slide " and the Sefferweicher " Lawrence flea market."

On April 30, the traditional " maypole " instead, this is officially also conducted by the volunteer fire department Sefferweich, subsequently, there are always numerous villagers to greet May.
