Segna di Bonaventura

Segna di Bonaventura was an Italian painter who belonged to the style of the Sienese school.

Life

He appeared at the end of the 13th and during the first half of the 14th century in and around Siena. The period of his artistic creativity falls in the years 1298-1331. A document November 4, 1331 is mentioned as the date of his death. Probably he was a cousin of Duccio di Buoninsegna and painted in the style as well as that of Simone Martini. His sons Niccolò di Segna and Francesco di Segna di Bonaventura were painters in Siena.
