Segwaypolo

Segwaypolo is a team sport in which a traveling on a Segway player a ball by Mallet must hit into the goal of the opposing team.

History

The first official Segway Polo match took place in the United States. It was a two-on - two game, which was attended by, among others, the Bay Area Segway Enthusiasts Group ( Bay Area SEG). In the following years the fame of the sport grew. There were based teams in New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany and Switzerland. A first set of rules was created. Under the name " Woz Challenge Cup " 2006 tournaments were first held, since 2008, co-organized by the International Segway Polo Association (ISPA ). Tournament name Woz Challenge Cup is derived from the nickname of the self-playing Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

First Segwaypoloverein in Germany, took part in a Segway Cup tournament, were the Funky Move Turtles from Lohmar - Wahlscheid near Cologne.

From 16 to 18 July 2010, the first open Segway Polo Championship was held in Hemer on the grounds of the State Garden Show.

Regulate

The rules are quite close to the Polo. However, the two opposing teams of five players each to play.
