Seiji Ono

Seiji Ono (Japanese小野 诚 治, Seiji Ono, born June 18, 1956 at the County Nishiuwa, Ehime Prefecture ) is a former table tennis player from Japan. He took from 1979 to 1987 at five world championships. Ono played a very topspin - fitting table tennis in Japanese penholder style. He was a very athletic player who has also invested a lot of time in strength training and Audauerläufe besides training of table tennis technology.

Achievements

He achieved his greatest success in 1979 in Pyongyang, when he defeated in the final the Chinese Guo Yuehua ( who had to retire due to a hamstring in the 4th movement ) and thus became world champion.
