Seizō Watase

Seizo Watase (Japaneseわたせ せいぞう, actually :渡 瀬 政 造, Seizo Watase; * February 15, 1945 in Kobe, Japan) is a Japanese mangaka and illustrator.

Shortly after his birth he moved with his parents to Kitakyushu, where he graduated from high school in 1963. He then studied at Waseda University in Tokyo Law and graduated in 1968 successfully. After he had been employed for more than 16 years for an insurance company, he quit his job in 1985 and has since worked mainly as an illustrator and mangaka.

Seizo Watase has become known among other things for his posters, which, with clear colors and shapes idyllic worlds and associations to evoke " the good old days ", so perhaps it has never existed. A small museum in Kitakyushu draw up a selection of these posters and other works.
