Selma is a city in the U.S. state of Texas.

It was founded in 1847 and is located about 25 km northeast of San Antonio.

The city had in 2004 according to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics 2,187 inhabitants, according to official figures, in 2000 only 788 inhabitants.

Interstate 35 leads through the center of Selma; two-thirds of the urban area are in Bexar County, a district in Guadalupe County and the rest in Comal County. Thus, the city is divided into three independent school districts.
