Selve

The Selve Automotive GmbH ( 1922: Selve automotive Werke AG ) was a German automobile manufacturer, which originated in 1919, when the industrialist Dr. -Ing. eh Walther von Selve the North German automobile plants bought in Hameln. Together with the engine works Basse & Selve in Altena they were part of a founded by Gustav Selve Group.

Under the aegis of director Ernst Lehmann is set forth first mid-sized car of conventional design with 4- cylinder engine. There were only engines of its sister company Basse & Selve used. These engines were developed by Walther von Selve and were the first engines with light alloy piston ( aluminum alloy) that have ever been installed in cars. At times, employing up to 700 workers and employees. From 1927 the company was the middle class behind and moved to luxury limousines and Pullman limousines with 6- cylinder engine. However, the global economic crisis caused a halt in the paragraph so that in 1929 the car production was abandoned. In 1934, the company finally bankrupt, only two years after its sister company, Basse & Selve.
