Semacode
Semacode (Greek semaion "sign" ) is a Canadian company and at the same time chosen by this firm marketing term for a work based on the Data Matrix ISO / IEC 16022 Data Matrix code symbol in which a URL is encoded.
With appropriate software, the mobile data matrix code symbol can be detected by camera phones and serves for fast access to a web or WAP page on the mobile phone without wasted typing the address. Meanwhile, there are several implementations of such Data Matrix reading software from different vendors, but usually not charged.
A project with semacode on public mobile tagging was Semapedia. This now makes use of the QR code.
