SemanticGov

SemanticGov was composed of twelve organizations ( companies and research institutions ) from seven countries that had the goal of the public administration of the European Union using Semantic Web Services to improve an EU-funded project of an international consortium.

It was all about, to facilitate both national and international administrative matters such as administrative procedures for citizens. It should also be facilitated and improved inter-agency cooperation. SemanticGov used this knowledge from the area around Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services. The launch of the project took place on 1 January 2006; the run time was 40 months. The budget included € 4,375,000.00, of which the EU funded € 2,720,000.00. The project ended on 30 April 2009.
